This is a great location to get to Calakmul when it opens. You should know this is next to the road where there is currently lots of construction traffic. There are also roosters that may be noisy. Earplugs or noise cancelling headphones work wonders to help you sleep at night. The owner was very friendly and helpful.
We used this as our base to visit Calakmul very early the next day. All staff is very friendly and accomodating. It’s ideally located next the entrance road to Calakmul (a few hundred meters from the ejido gates). We had dinner on site which was good and wasn’t too expensive. We didn’t have hot water in our cabaña and wifi apparently just works in the parking lot, but other than that it is all good. We asked to have breakfast at 6am so we could be on our way at 6:15 and that was all good. Perfect start to the day with coffee, different types of eggs and toast.
We booked for one night during our roadtrip. It was fantastic. And the lunch was perfect. It is near the highway and very lovely. Thank you so much for this experience
We ate dinner here after leaving the biosphere (November 2019) and this is honesty one of our top experiences that we still talk about. The owner was amazing. Very nice and accommodating and the food was AMAZING! He has the most beautiful family and was just an all around nice guy. When we come back we'll definitely be staying in the cabanas!
The location is perfect for visiting Calakmul Archeological site. Greeted by a hard working family. There is also a restaurant on premise with very tasty food. Rooms are very clean, have a private bathroom, and are appropriate for a country side stay. You can park right in front of the room. Got a very good price by renting directly from the owner, not through an online platform. Price includes breakfast.
I’ll be straight forward. If you are a bit sissy and you want a 5 start hotel in middle of the jungle, this is not for you. But I guess if you’ve come all the way here you have what it take to enjoy this amazing place in middle of nowhere. Go for a walk and enjoy La Selva, its people, the chicken and soak in the real Mexico. Beautiful place, absolutely recommended. It fully covers your most important needs. Even hot water.
Clean and spacious cabins to spend the night before heading to the ruins of Calakmul. The town is very small, don't expect much of it. The family running the cabins offers dinner with limited selection. The rate we paid included breakfast.
The best place to stay if you go to Calakmul. No airco.. but clean room and good affordable food. Price of accommodation is not cheap.. but that makes sense due too the lack of supply.
